Still just a freshman, Rylan Young continues to carry herself like a veteran in the pitching circle. 

Young was chosen as the HCAC Pitcher of the Week after throwing 9.1 scoreless innings across two appearances. This marks her second time winning the award this season and the third time in the last four weeks that a Franklin hurler has taken the honor (Lauren Duncan won two weeks ago).

The Hagerstown, Indiana native earned a midweek win against Rose-Hulman, scattering six hits across six shutout frames. She then came on in relief against Eureka and added 3.1 innings without a run, yielding a pair of hits while striking out six. Young is currently 8-1 on the season with an earned-run average of 3.30.

Franklin, which is 24-6 overall and sits atop the HCAC standings with an 8-0 league mark, hosts Hanover in a doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon.
