4/13/2026 3:00:00 PM

Jaylee Fansler has been nothing short of dominant since debuting in a Franklin softball uniform. On Monday, the rest of the conference showed that it has been paying attention.

The sophomore second baseman was chosen as the HCAC Player of the Week after powering the league-leading Grizzlies to six victories in as many games.

Fansler was 9 for 16 at the plate with seven runs scored and 10 runs batted in. She hit four doubles, including three during the first game of Sunday's doubleheader against Bluffton; one of those was a bases-clearing shot that plated three to help the Griz to a five-inning rout.

The Bainbridge, Indiana product ranks at or near the top of the HCAC in most major offensive categories this spring. Fansler is batting .519 with four home runs, 32 RBIs and an on-base plus slugging (OPS) of 1.422. She and the Grizzlies are 21-5 overall and a perfect 6-0 in conference play thus far.

Franklin's next games will be at Rose-Hulman on Wednesday afternoon (3 and 5 p.m.).
