FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College men's tennis team closed out their regular season on Saturday (May 1) morning at Grizzly Park, taking on the Anderson Ravens with seeding in the conference tournament at stake.
The Grizzlies (3-6, 1-4, HCAC) got singles wins from each of their top two singles players but couldn't overcome the Ravens (2-9, 2-3 HCAC) in a 7-2 Anderson victory.
Freshman Camden Jones claimed his first career win as the top singles player, recording a 6-2, 6-4 win over Anderson's Colton Stevens. Junior Ty McCory was a winner at the No. 2 spot in the lineup for the first time this season, claiming a 6-0, 6-3 win to close out the scoring for Franklin. Anderson took both doubles matches and the final three singles matchups in straight sets. The full list of results can be found below.
The Grizzlies will turn their attention to the HCAC Tournament next week, and they will learn their opening round opponent in the coming days.
