Franklin men's tennis came into Wednesday hoping to flip its regular-season result against Anderson when the two squads got back together for an HCAC tournament quarterfinal at Anderson High School.
Unfortunately for the Grizzlies, the Ravens were able to replicate their victory from a month ago, claiming a 6-1 victory.
The loss ends Franklin's season with a 7-16 record.
Marcus Cox and
Luke Morris got the Grizzlies going with a 6-2 triumph at third doubles, but Anderson won the other two matches to claim the first point of the match.
The Ravens then clinched the match by taking five straight-set victories in singles play. The lone exception came in the No. 3 position, where
Jaden Wells gutted out a 6-1, 4-6, 10-8 win.
Franklin graduates two seniors from its lineup —
Brian Vennemann and
Shay Kyser, who played fifth and sixth singles on Wednesday (Kyser also played No. 2 doubles).Â
