In danger of going through the month of March without a win, Franklin men's tennis decided its spring break trip was a good time for a fresh start.
The Grizzlies got their journey started Thursday with a comfortable 6-1 win at Berea.
Franklin (6-10, 1-3 HCAC) picked up the doubles point with ease.
Marcus Cox and
Brendan Hanner posted a 6-1 victory at No. 1, while
Jaden Wells and
Raymond Richard won by the same score at No. 2.
Logan Schick and
Michael Linnehan cruised in the No. 3 position, 6-0.
In singles play, Wells was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 2 and Hanner rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 triumph in the third spot.
Brian Vennemann and Richard posted matching 6-0, 6-0 victories at fourth and sixth singles, respectively, while
Shay Kyser took a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5. The lone Berea point came at No. 1, where Cox fell in a third-set tiebreak.
The Grizzlies continue their journey southward with a Friday stop in North Carolina to face Brevard.
