Three Men's Tennis Players Earn All-HCAC Nods

4/30/2026 2:30:00 PM

Though Franklin men's tennis saw its season come to an end on Wednesday, it received some pretty immediate gratification on Thursday afternoon.

Three Grizzlies were named to the All-HCAC team, with sophomore Clark Hersam and juniors Marcus Cox and Jaden Wells all making the honorable mention list.

A native of Avon, Indiana, Hersam played primarily in the top singles spot for the Griz this year, winning six matches in all against a difficult slate of competition and claiming HCAC Player of the Week honors once in the fall. He also teamed with Wells to win eight doubles matches, eight of those in the No. 1 position.

Cox, a product of Plainfield, Indiana, also won six singles matches on the year playing in the second spot most of the time. He added five doubles wins with three different partners, four of those at No. 2.

Wells led the Grizzlies with 12 singles victories, earning 10 of those in the No. 3 spot with the others coming at No. 2. The Jeffersonville, Indiana native, who snagged an HCAC Player of the Week nod in the fall, supplemented his eight doubles wins with Hersam by winning two others with Raymond Richard.

The all-conference trio is expected to head up a veteran Franklin team that graduates just two players this spring.
