TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Franklin men's tennis team hit the road for a conference matchup against perennial league powerhouse Rose-Hulman on Tuesday (Apr. 8) night.
Freshman Cooper Davis picked up a thrilling three-set win in singles competition for his second career singles victory in a Franklin (1-4, 0-2 HCAC). The match would go the way of the Engineers (4-2, 3-0 HCAC), 8-1.
Davis fell behind by a set against Sean Xia in No. 5 singles play, but rallied from a 6-4 loss in the opening set to even things up with a 6-4 win of his own in set two. In the final game, Davis held on to take the point with a 10-7 win in the tie-breaker. Rose-Hulman would claim the other four singles matches in straight sets.
Franklin will step out of conference play for their next match, which is set for Tuesday, Apr. 13 at home against Ohio Christian. First serve is set for 4:00 p.m.
