RECAP | Men's Tennis Falls to Hanover in HCAC Opener

FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin men's tennis team opened Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play on Saturday (Apr. 3) afternoon, hosting the Hanover Panthers at Grizzly Park in Franklin.

Freshman Camden Jones' win at No. 3 singles play was the highlight of the afternoon for Franklin (1-3, 0-1 HCAC), but they would ultimately fall to their in-state rival Panthers (4-1, 1-0 HCAC) by an 8-1 score.

In his matchup with Jed Fajt in the middle of the lineup, Jones opened their match with a 6-3 win in game one before dropping the second set by a 1-6 score. The Scottsburg, Ind.-native would shake off his game two defeat and bounce back with a dominant showing in the tie-breaking set, taking a 10-1 decision.

The Grizzlies will be back in conference play on Thursday, Apr. 8 when they travel to Terre Haute, Ind. to take on the Rose-Hulman Engineers. First serve is set for 4:00 p.m.
