FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College men's tennis team hosted their final non-conference matchup of the spring on Tuesday (Apr. 13) afternoon, taking on NAIA for Ohio Christian at Grizzly Park.
Franklin (2-4) got back in the win column for the first time in three contests, downing the Trail Blazers (0-9) by a 6-1 count. Franklin wasted no time getting halfway to victory, winning both doubles matches. The top team of Ty McCory and Camden Jones were 8-2 winners while the No. 2 pairing of Jake Zachary and Matt Leming rolled to an 8-0 win.
Singles play saw Jones earn a 6-0, 6-2 win at the No. 2 spot in the lineup with the Grizzlies' claiming their final three points by identical 6-0 scores. McCory, Leming and Cooper Davis rounded out the wins for Franklin from the 3-5 spots in the FC singles lineup.
The Grizzlies are back on the court on Saturday (Apr. 17) afternoon for an HCAC road matchup against the Manchester Spartans. First serve is set for 11:00 a.m. from North Manchester.
