FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College men's tennis team began their spring slate on Saturday (Mar. 6) afternoon at home, hosting Wabash College at Grizzly Park.
Franklin (0-1) was unable to overcome the Little Giants (2-3) on Saturday, dropping a 7-2 decision. The Grizzlies claimed their first point of the afternoon in No. 1 doubles matchup with junior Ty McCory and freshman Camden Jones teaming up to take an 8-6 decision.
Senior Jacob Zachary earned a hard-fought 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 win from the No. 3 singles spot, but the rest of the matchups would go Wabash's way with two of those coming in three-set showdowns that saw Matt Leming and Zach Lester come up on the short end.
The Grizzlies will have a couple weeks off to prepare for their next matches, which are set for Mar. 20 in Owensboro, Ky. against Kentucky Wesleyan College and Kaskaskia College.
