FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College men's tennis team grabbed their first win of the spring on Saturday (Mar. 20), taking a 6-3 decision over Kaskaskia College.
The Grizzlies (1-1) got off and rolling with a sweep of all three doubles matches. A trio of Franklin players would go on to snag two points on the day in their win over the Blue Devils (2-1).
Franklin's top doubles team of Ty McCory and Camden Jones made quick work of their opponents, rolling to an 8-1 win. Jake Zachary and Zach Lester were 8-6 winners as the #2 tandem and the pair of Matt Leming and Cooper Davis matched that score to take the No. 3 doubles matchup.
Jones collected his second point with ease, winning the #3 singles match 6-1, 6-2. Leming was a 6-0, 6-2 winner at No. 5 singles to seal the win and Davis collected his first career singles win with a 6-2, 6-2 win in the No. 6 singles contest.
Franklin returns to action next Saturday (Mar. 27) with a home match against Greenville University. First serve is set for 11:00 a.m.
