Men's Tennis Team Defeats Transylvania

FRANKLIN, Ind. (April 8, 2017) – The Franklin College men's tennis team cruised to an 8-1 win Saturday against visiting Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Transylvania.

With the win, the Grizzlies improve to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the HCAC.

Franklin swept the six singles spots and the top two doubles spots. At singles, the Grizzlies' winners were Alex Hammer at No. 1 (4-6, 6-2, 10-3); Blake Amonett at No. 2 (6-1, 6-3); Kyle Sauley at No. 3 (6-2, 6-2); Dean Elrod at No. 4 (6-2, 5-7, 6-2); Dan Hicks at No. 5 (6-4, 6-2); and Josh Stewart at No. 6 (6-4, 6-2).

At No. 1 doubles, Ethan Caldwell and Hammer won 8-3, and Amonett and Sauley won 8-2.

The Grizzlies' next match is Sunday at Defiance.
