Ingram's Overtime Goal Lifts Women's Lacrosse to Victory at Thiel

Greenville, Pa. - Junior Lexi Ingram (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington South) found the back of the net in overtime to propel the Franklin College women's lacrosse to an 11-10 road victory against Thiel College on Saturday afternoon in Ohio River Women's Lacrosse Conference (ORWLC) play.

The Grizzlies (4-2, 2-0 ORWLC) earned two road conference victories to begin the conference schedule. Franklin defeated Hanover College 11-10 on Tuesday.

Senior Paige Clark (Jefferson, Ohio/Jefferson Area) scored two goals in the first six minutes of the match to give Franklin a 2-0 advantage. The visitors took a 3-1 lead midway through the first half on a goal by senior Carley Campbell (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove). Senior Megan Rhotan (Blackford, Ind./Hartford City) set up Campbell's goal.

Ingram found the back of the net with eight seconds remaining in the first half to give Franklin a 7-5 halftime advantage.

In the second half, Thiel cut the deficit to 8-7 on a goal by Courtney Fatta with 25 minutes left. Franklin responded with back-to-back goals by sophomore Cali Wetli (Ladoga, Ind./South Montgomery) and Grow to hold a 10-7 lead with 21:30 remaining.

Thiel mounted a rally behind three straight goals to square the contest. A goal by Thiel's Jennifer Rickens at the 1:30 mark forced the overtime period.

Then, Ingram scored an unassisted goal 30 seconds into overtime for the game-winning goal.

Junior Hannah Grow (Morton, Ill./Morton) led the Franklin offensive attack with four goals and one assist. Ingram tallied three goals on five shots. Clark added two goals and winning four draws.

Defensively, sophomore Morgan McIntosh (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) recorded a team-high five ground balls. Rhotan picked up three ground balls.

Junior goalkeeper Kayanna Wolter (Greensburg, Ind./Greensburg) made seven saves to pick up her fourth victory of the season. She made four saves during the second half.

Franklin returns to action on Saturday, April 9, at 3 p.m. when it hosts Waynesburg College from Faught Stadium. Live statistics of the match will be available.
