RECAP | Lacrosse Drops Saturday Matchup with Spalding

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Franklin women's lacrosse team hit the road for the first time in conference play on Saturday (Apr. 12), taking on the Spalding Golden Eagles.

Freshman goalkeeper Catherine Scott set a new season-high for saves with 12 stops on the afternoon. But this matchup was all Golden Eagles (3-9, 2-0 HCLC), as they bested the Grizzlies (0-6, 0-2 HCLC) 19-2.

Spalding netted the game's first eight goals before Abby Moore got the Grizzlies on the board late in the first half. Addie Whitman found the back of the net early in the second half to cut the deficit to 10-2, but the Grizzlies would go scoreless the rest of the afternoon and the hosts pulled away.

Moore added an assist on Whitman's goal for a multi-point afternoon, leading Franklin with four shot attempts and six draw controls. Maddie Cary grabbed a team-high four ground balls and forced two Spalding turnovers. Scott reached double digit saves for the first time in her career on Saturday afternoon.
