Men's Tennis Loses 2015 Opener at Wabash

Crawfordsville, Ind. - The Franklin College men's tennis team lost its 2015 season opener at Wabash College 9-0 on Wednesday evening.

Senior Robby Woehrle (Avon, Ind./Avon) dropped a hard-fought three-set match at No. 5 singles. He forced the deciding third set with a 6-3 triumph in the second frame. Wabash's Mazin Hakim won the third-set tiebreaker 10-6 to pick up the victory.

Junior Arjun Bhalla (Nashik Maharashtra, India) also lost a third-set tiebreaker on the No. 6 singles court. Bhalla dropped the opening set 6-4, but won a second-set tiebreaker 7-5 to square the match. In the deciding third set Wabash's Nathan Neal won 10 of the 11 points.

Freshman Alex Hammer (Greenwood, Ind./Greenwood) lost in a hard-fought match by 6-3 set scores at No. 3 singles.

Franklin returns to action on Sunday, February 22, at 11 a.m. when it travels to Brescia College (Ky.).
