Franklin men's golf turned in a strong performance at the Stateline Shootout over the weekend. Sophomore Hunter Riggs took center stage for the Grizzlies.

The Evansville, Indiana native — an All-HCAC player as a freshman — was named the conference's Player of the Week after carding a 68-79-75—222 (+6) to tie for 12th on the individual leaderboard. The first-round 68 marked a career best for Riggs and featured seven of the 13 birdies that he collected on the weekend.

Teammates Nick Stewart and Jake Garrison finished two shots behind Riggs in a tie for 15th, helping to push the Grizzlies into a tie for third in the 12-team field.

Riggs and the Grizzlies return to action Oct. 5 and 6 at the Wabash College Invitational.
