Franklin women's track and field concluded the HCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, finishing with 47 points to claim fifth place.

Freshman Cora Mink got the scoring started in the 100-meter hurdles final, placing sixth in a new personal best time of 17.82.

The freshmen kept up the pressure, with Alaina Kellerman shocking the HCAC by winning the pole vault. The rookie cleared 3.13 meters (10 feet, 3.25 inches).

In the 100-meter dash final, frosh Amani Byrd ran a personal best 12.87 to snag fourth place.

Another freshman, Alex Mast had herself a busy day. She ran 58.30 for a new PB and third place. She returned for the 200, where she collected a fourth-place finish with a time of 26.39. That mark gives her full control over the No. 4 spot in school history.

The distance crew also saw success on Saturday, as frosh Ariana Sheckler snuck in an eighth-place finish in the 1500 with a personal best of 5:05.48.

Rounding out the evening, the women's 4x400 relay team of Mast, Fiona Sodrel, Andrea Madrigal and Sheckler came through the line in sixth with a time of 4:18.92, which is a season best for the squad.

The Grizzlies will now set their sights on last chance qualifiers in hopes of sending athletes to the NCAA Division III meet.
