Thanks to a three-goal outburst in Saturday's victory against Muskingum, junior forward/midfielder Lauren Barker has been named the HCAC's Offensive Player of the Week for women's soccer the week ending Sept. 6.

The Columbus, Indiana native got the Grizzlies on the board just 34 seconds into a 4-1 home win, taking a feed from freshman Madison Hill and hammering a shot home from the right side. She stretched the lead to 3-0 in the 54th minute of action when she ran onto a perfect through ball from Courtney Tsamba and finished between a pair of Muskie defenders. The final tally came with 8:59 to go in the match, when Barker punched in a Hill pass that came straight across the goal mouth from the left side and secured the Franklin W.

It was the first career multi-goal game for Barker, who led the Grizzlies in scoring as a freshman with four goals in 2023 but missed almost all of last season due to a knee injury. Her four shots on goal tied a career high.

Franklin will be back on the Faught Stadium pitch Wednesday afternoon for a 4 p.m. match against Alma.
