9/28/2025 10:47:00 PM

Franklin men's golf suffered a bit of a second-day dropoff but still managed to come away with a top-five team finish at the Stateline Shootout in Harrison, Ohio over the weekend.

The Grizzlies, who were in second place after Saturday's opening round with an 11-over-par team total, shot +28 on Sunday to land in a three-way tie for fifth with Asbury and Central State in the 16-team field.

Jordan Huxford was the top individual performer for Franklin, tying for eighth individually at 4 over par. Huxford carded a 1-under-par 71 on Saturday, the low round of the day, and followed up with a 77 on Sunday. Angel Soria went 73-81—154 (+10) to tie for 20th, while Tyler Young was one shot back at 155 (T-24th) after shooting a team-best 76 on Sunday. Nick Stewart was +15 to tie for 45th.

Jake Garrison joined teammate Caden Anderson, who was competing as an individual, at +17 for the weekend, good for a 52nd-place tie.

The Grizzlies will wrap up the fall season Oct. 18-19 at the HCAC Preview in Richmond, Kentucky. That tournament will be held at Boone's Trace National Golf Club.
