Playing against the largest field it'll see this fall, Franklin men's golf made quite a showing for itself at the 45-team Midwest Region Classic, contested over the weekend on the Brighton Dale Links in Kansasville, Wisconsin.
The Grizzlies shot a 10-over-par total of 298 on Friday to land in sixth place on the team leaderboard. Saturday's second and final round was canceled due to inclement weather.
Angel Soria led the way for Franklin with an even-par round of 72, good for 12th on the individual leaderboard. Soria carded three birdies on the day, including two on the back nine that briefly put him in the red for the round.
Jake Harrison and
Jordan Huxford tied for 35th with matching scores of 74.
Nick Stewart added a 78 in an up-and-down round that included six birdies, while
Avery Young's 82 rounded out the Grizzlies' scoring.
Franklin will play this coming Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 27-28) at the Stateline Shootout in Ohio.
