RECAP | Men's Tennis Falls to Hanover, Will be #5 Seed in HCAC Tournament

Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – The Franklin men's tennis team brought their regular season to a close on Sunday (Apr. 27) afternoon, taking on the Hanover Panthers.
 
The Grizzlies (7-12, 3-4 HCAC) fell to the Panthers (7-6, 4-3 HCAC) by a 6-1 score, and will enter the upcoming conference tournament as the fifth seed overall.
 
Doubles play saw Franklin take a win at the two spot with Shay Kyser and Nathan Jarboe winning 6-4, but Hanover won the doubles point after a marathon 7-6 (15-13) battle at No. 3 doubles between Franklin's Marcus Cox and Lucas Densford and Hanover's Chase Richardson and Alberto Castillo.
 
Clark Hersam picked up Franklin's point with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles. But Hanover laid claim to the other five head-to-head matches to earn the win and claim home court in the rematch to come in the conference tournament.
 
The Grizzlies and Panthers will tangle again on Wednesday, Apr. 30 in Hanover in the opening round of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. A start time will be announced in the coming days.
