MUNCIE, Ind. – Franklin College freshman
Jordan Huxford laid claim to the first tournament win of his college career, winning the Anderson Invitational on Apr. 25-26.
Huxford fired a two-day score of 148 (73-75) to win the tournament by three shots in total over teammate
Nick Stewart and earn Franklin's second medalist honor of the season. As a team, Franklin took second overall with a two-day score of 627 (306-321), finishing behind only tournament host Anderson for the top spot.
Huxford finished with the second-lowest round of day two to overtake day one leader Stewart for the win. Stewart finished the weekend with a 151 (72-79) to narrowly miss out on the second medalist honor of his playing career.
Freshman
Ben Brown took third on the team and tied for 21
st overall with a 164 (80-84) with fellow rookie
Caden Anderson tying for 28
th overall with a 167 (81-86). Freshman
Tyler Young rounded out Franklin's top-five with a 176 (93-83) and a 35
th place finish.
Up next for the Grizzlies is the 2025 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championships, which are set for May 9-11 in Richmond, Ind. at Forest Hills Country Club.
