RICHMOND, Ind. – The Franklin women's golf team faced off with six other teams on Friday and Saturday (Apr. 18-19) at Richmond Elks Country Club for the Earlham Spring Invitational.
The Grizzlies collected a fourth place finish as a team, dropping 14 shots off their score in round two to finish with a 774 (394-380) overall.
For the third tournament in a row, freshman
Alex Goodwin led the way for the Grizzlies and 10
th place overall, carding a 180 (94-86) with her round two score setting a new collegiate best effort. Senior
Jenna Imel took second on the Grizzlies and 18
th overall with a 197 (100-97) with sophomore
Jaelyn Allen one shot back in a tie for 19
th with a 198 (98-100).
Freshman
Hanna Beller came into the clubhouse with a 199 (102-97) and a share of 21
st place while fellow freshman
Grace Risley tied for 27
th with a 213 (104-109).
Up next for the Grizzlies is their final tune-up ahead of the conference championships, which takes place on Apr. 25-26 at Grandview Golf Course and the Anderson Spring Invitational.
