LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Franklin men's golf team hit the road for their spring debut on Sunday (Mar. 16), taking on Spalding University at Oxmoor Country Club in an 18-hole dual match.
The Grizzlies claimed victory in the head-to-head meeting, besting the Golden Eagles 305-311. Sophomore
Nick Stewart claimed medalist honors and set a new career-low round with a four-under 68 to win by seven shots.
Freshman
Jordan Huxford placed second on the Grizzlies and third overall with a 76 and
Zack Mosier tied for sixth place with an 80.
Tyler Young rounded out the top-four with an 81 to tie for 10
th place overall.
Three other Grizzlies took part in the event with
Caden Anderson shooting an 86,
Ben Brown Carding a 90 and Mitch O'Meara firing a 93.
Franklin continues the spring season next Saturday and Sunday (Mar. 22-23), traveling to Richmond, Ky. and Battlefield Golf Course for the Alice Lloyd Spring Invitational.
