CARMEL, Ind. - Franklin College freshman
Ailyn Hendricks earned the second Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Player of the Week award in her career when the conference announced its weekly conference honor on Wednesday (Feb. 26) afternoon.
Hendricks played a vital role in Franklin's 4-3 win over Kentucky Wesleyan in their spring opener last weekend. Facing off at No. 1 singles, the Franklin-native won in a second set tie-breaker 6-0, 7-6 (7-4) to secure the decisive point in the Grizzlies' victory over a Division II opponent.
The Grizzly freshman can add this to her personal trophy case, joining the first Player of the Week honor she earned back on Sept. 17 after going perfect on the court across three different matches.
Hendricks and the rest of the Grizzlies will be in action on Saturday (Mar. 1), when they head to Hanover for a conference showdown with the Hanover Panthers. First serve is set for 10:00 a.m.
