Freshman
Reagan Cox earned her first HCAC Player of the Week honor in women's tennis following a successful weekend of play in Illinois.
The Crawfordsville, Indiana native suffered a heartbreaking 6-3, 2-6, 11-9 defeat at No. 3 singles at Illinois College on Saturday before bouncing back with a pair of convincing wins in the Grizzlies' victory over Olivet Nazarene. Cox teamed with
Alleigh Leezer for a 6-1 win at No. 3Â doubles, helping Franklin secure that point, and she added a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at third singles.
By claiming the weekly honor, Cox gives Franklin three straight POTW winners. Classmate
Emma Tranter received the award following each of the first two weeks of the season.
Cox and the Grizzlies (3-4) will be back at home for their final three matches of the fall, starting with an Oct. 2 date against IU East.
