Franklin tennis players keep racking up the early accolades.
Jaden Wells kept the Grizzlies' hit parade rolling, earning HCAC Player of the Week honors after stellar performances against IU East and Olivet to start the month of October. It's the fourth time this fall that a Franklin player has picked up weekly honors, joining women's players Emma Tranter (twice) and Reagan Cox.
Wells, a native of Jeffersonville, Indiana, got his week started with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at third singles against IU East. Two days later, he paired with
Clark Hersam at first doubles to pick up a 7-5 win, helping clinch the doubles point, and added a 6-1, 6-4 triumph at No. 3 singles. The junior's bid for a perfect week was spoiled only by a 7-6 doubles loss with Hersam in the IU East match.
The Grizzlies conclude the fall season this coming Sunday (Oct. 12) with a home match against Alma.
