Franklin men's tennis got itself back on track Saturday afternoon with a clean 7-0 sweep of visiting Olivet.
The Grizzlies eked out the doubles point, with
Clark Hersam and
Jaden Wells earning a 7-5 win in the first position and
Jeremiah Hurt and
Luke Morris claiming a 7-6 victory at No. 3.
Shay Kyser and
Raymond Richard had previously rolled to a 6-1 win at No. 2.
In singles play, Franklin took the first three points in straight sets — Hersam with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1, Cox with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2 and Wells with a 6-1, 6-4 triumph in the third spot. Hurt added a 6-1, 6-1 victory at sixth singles.
The last two matches went the distance, with
Brian Vennemann rallying from a set down to win at fourth singles and Richard doing the same at No. 5.
The men will finish up their fall schedule next Sunday (Oct. 12) with a home match against Alma.
