Franklin men's golf finished out its fall season with one of its strongest performances to date, placing third in the HCAC Preview tournament at Boone's Trace in Richmond, Kentucky over the weekend.
The Grizzlies were 19 over par in Saturday's first round, tied for second and just four shots back of leader Rose-Hulman. A +33 in the final round on Sunday helped Franklin hold off a charge from Mount St. Joseph and Transylvania and remain in the top three.
Avery Young was the Grizzlies' top individual performer, tying for third on the leaderboard with a 74-76—150.
Caden Anderson was right behind Young with a 73-78—151, good for a sixth-place tie, and
Hunter Riggs tied for 10th with a 78-75—153.
Rounding out the Franklin lineup were
Nick Stewart (77-82—159, T-18th),
Jordan Huxford (79-82—161, T-23rd),
Jake Garrison (83-79—162, T-28th) and
Angel Soria (78-88—166, T-37th).
