NEWS | Jamie Haywood Named New Head Women's Golf Coach

FRANKLIN – Jamie Haywood has been named the new head coach of the Franklin women's golf program, with Director of Athletics Lance Marshall announcing the appointment on Wednesday (Aug. 14) afternoon.
 
"I'm excited for the opportunity to maximize the potential of the Franklin women's golf program," Haywood said. "My goal is to inspire and empower my players and I look forward to getting to work with this group of student-athletes."
 
"We are excited to welcome Coach Haywood to the Franklin College family," Marshall added. "We are excited for Coach Haywood to build on the historical success of the women's golf program at Franklin College. I am confident that her impressive background and leadership skills will lead our student-athletes to continued success in the classroom and on the course."
 
A member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and long-time golf pro, Haywood has been a member of the staff at the Brickyard Crossing GC at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway since 2019, where she is a golf professional and LPGA summer golf program director, youth camp director and instructor. She also has a hands-on role in the coordination of tournament and events at the course.
 
Before heading to the Brickyard, Haywood was the Director of Golf at Stone Crest GC in Bedford, Ind. from 2018-19 and the head golf pro at Eagle Point Golf Resort in Bloomington, Ind. in 2017. Before going the route of club pro, she was the middle school girl's golf coach at Martinsville Middle School from 2008-15.
 
Haywood graduated from Ball State in 2004 and was a member of the Ball State women's golf team from 2000-02. As a member of the Martinsville girl's golf team from 1996-99, she was part of four straight state championships and was inducted with her 1997 team into the Indiana Sports Hall of Fame in 2023.
