GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Franklin men's track and field team faced off with teams from around the state on Saturday (Apr. 15) at the Indiana DIII Championships, hosted by DePauw University.
Franklin finished seventh overall, collecting 35 points on the afternoon.
On the track, the Grizzlies top finish came in the 4x400m relay that saw
Logan McIntosh,
Drew McGaha,
Eli Cochrane and
Luke Paddock place fourth with a time of 3:32.73.
Elliott Gough finished fifth in the 1500m run in 4:11.44, a spot matched by
John Asplund in the 5K with a time of 15:51.48.
Other notable finishes saw
Zach Roberts place sixth in the 400 hurdles in 1:00.87, McGaha taking seventh in the 800m in 1:59.19, McIntosh taking ninth in the 400m in 52.59 and
Jack Sells placing ninth in the 1500m in 4:15.65.
Over in the field, senior
Chase Miles turned in a runner-up finish in the javelin with a throw of 44.72m and junior
Noah Sigler placed fifth in the hammer throw in 49.55m.
The Grizzlies will take part in their final tune-up before the conference championships next Friday (Apr. 21) at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet.
