INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Franklin men's golf team faced off with a heavy Division I field for 54 holes at the Butler University Don Benbow Invitational on Mar. 27-28.
The Grizzlies finished the event in 15th place overall, putting together three strong rounds to finish with a score of 906 (304-303-299) and breaking 300 for the second time this spring on the final day of competition.
Franklin was paced by freshman
Braxton Christie and his share of 54th place with a 222 (72-77-72). Junior
Zach Ricketts carded the lowest round for any Grizzly on day two, finishing in a tie for 56th with a 233 (81-72-70). Freshman
Jacob Paine tied for 79th with a 232 (77-77-78) and
Blake Hammond (80-77-78) and
Carter Giggy (75-81-79) tied for 83rd with matching scores of 235.
Sophomore Tim Leonard competed as an individual, earning a share of 66th with a 227 (78-73-76).
Franklin takes part in their final event before the conference championships on Apr. 15-16 at Oxmoor CC in Louisville, Ky. and the Spalding Spring Invitational.
