CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Franklin men's track and field team continued their indoor season on Saturday (Jan. 21) afternoon at the Mount St. Joseph Invitational.
It was a solid afternoon for the Grizzlies, as they collected three event wins, a whole host of top-five finishes and a team runner-up finish with 83 points.
Both of the Grizzlies' relay teams emerged with wins during the day. The 4x200m team of
Ezra Baker,
Nick Patton,
Maddix Flaugh and
Zach Roberts earned the first win of the day with a time of 1:45.85 and the 4x400m relay team of
Luke Paddock,
Drew McGaha,
Eli Cochrane and
Henry Davidson won their race in 3:37.17.
McGaha picked up the Grizzlies' lone individual win of the day, taking the top spot in the 800m run in 2:02.85. Three runners picked up runner-up finishes on the day with
John Asplund in the 5K (16.10.69),
Zach Roberts in the 60m dash (7.29) and
Nick Patton in the 60m hurdles (9.10).
Luke Paddock took third in the 400m dash and moved into 10
th in program history with his time of 52.99 seconds. One spot behind him in the 400 was freshman
Logan McIntosh in fourth with a time of 53.84 seconds. Other notable times on the track included
Jack Sells placing fifth in the 5K in 16:35.41 and Sam Wilson placing sixth in the mile in 4:40.40.
In the jumps,
Tristan Konkler finished fourth in the high jump after clearing the 1.77m bar whileBaker was a fifth place finisher in the long with a mark of 5.91m. Over in the throws, pit,
Noah Sigler took seventh in the weight throw (14.68m) and ninth in the shot put (11.34m).
The Grizzlies are back in action this coming Friday (Jan. 27) night, taking part in the Rose-Hulman Friday Night Spikes series in Terre Haute, Ind.
