FLORENCE, Ind. - The Franklin men's golf team made their season debut at Belterra Resort on Sept. 11-12 for the annual Battle at Belterra, hosted by Hanover College.
The Grizzlies finished their fall opener with a ninth-place finish, carding a 36-hole team score of 683 (329-354). The Grizzlies' lineup was paced by freshman
Braxton Christie, who tied for 27th in his first collegiate meet with a 160 (77-83). Sophomore Tim Leonard fnished second on the team and tied for 40th overall with a 168 (81-87) while rookie
Jacob Paine tied for 51st with a 174 (84-90). Rounding out the Franklin starting five was sophomore
Hayden Posch with a 181 and senior
Carter Giggy with a 188, with the duo finishing in 56th and 64th places, respectively.Â
The Grizzlies are off until this coming Saturday (Sept. 17) when they travel to Richmond, Ind. for day one of the Forest Hills Invitational at Forest Hills Country Club.Â
