Box Score WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Franklin College baseball played their first true road game of the year on Thursday (Mar. 10) afternoon, when they took on Wilmington College in the first of a home-and-home between the two programs.
Newcomers Matthew Earley, AJ Sanders and Noah Wood recorded multi-hit games, but the Grizzlies (4-3) fell behind the Quakers (7-4) early and spent the rest of the day playing catchup in an 11-4 loss.
How it Happened
The Quakers plated six runs in the first three frames and kept the Grizzlies off the board until Sean Sullivan broke through with an RBI single in the top of the sixth inning. Franklin got three more in the ninth with Sanders, Tysen Lipscomb and Andrew Wallace knocking home runs.
Matthew Johnson (0-1) made his second career appearance and first career start on the mound for the Grizzlies. He lasted an inning before turning the ball over to Mitch Merica, who went five innings in relief.
