In addition to setting records on the diamond, a couple of Franklin baseball players set a high bar academically as well.
Sophomore first baseman
Drew Helton and junior relief pitcher
Brayden Marrow were both named to the CSC Academic All-District team.
To be eligible, players must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher. Position players must compete in 90% of their school's games or start in at least 66% of them. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or
 pitched 35 innings.Â
Helton, a native of nearby Whiteland, Indiana, owns a 3.69 GPA as a sports management major. On the field, he led all of Division III in doubles per game during the season and set Grizzly single-season marks for doubles (24) and fielding percentage (.997). Marrow, who hails from New Palestine, Indiana, is a finance and accounting major with a 3.75 GPA.
Helton was also a finalist for Academic All-America consideration.
