Box Score TOLEDO, Ohio – The Franklin men's tennis team hit the road on Sunday (Oct. 2) afternoon for a matchup against NAIA foe Lourdes University.
The Grizzlies (0-3) got out to an early lead by taking two of the three doubles matches, but singles play belonged to the home side as Lourdes (4-0) picked up a 5-2 victory.
Dustin Garrison and
Layton Stieneker earned Franklin's first doubles victory of the day, winning at the No. 1 position 7-5.
Nathan Jarboe and
Shay Kyser sealed the doubles point for Franklin with a 6-2 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Brian Vennemann made his career debut in the lineup earned his first career singles win with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at the No. 6 position. But the other five matches were all decided in straight sets as the Tigers came back to win.
Franklin gets back on the court on Saturday (Oct. 8) afternoon, hosting St. Francis (IN) on homecoming weekend. First serve is set for 4:00 p.m.
