OBERLIN, Ohio – The Franklin men's cross country team made their final regular season appearance on Saturday (Oct. 15) morning, taking part in the Inter Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College.
With 31 other teams from around the region also competing, the Grizzlies walked away with a 20
th place finish and 574 points.
Sophomore
John Asplund finished as the leader for the Grizzlies and placed 60
th overall with an 8K time of 26:23.3.
Elliott Gough placed second on the FC leaderboard and 123
rd overall after hitting the finish line in 27:17.2. Right on his heels was junior
Jack Sells in 127
th place, finishing with a time of 27:21.0.
Freshman
Riley Devening took 175
th with a time of 28:06.9 and fellow rookie
Trevor Newby placed 180
th in 28:17.6 to round out the scoring times. Other times included
Samuel Wilson (28:31.3),
Eli Cochrane (28:42.1),
Jonah Decker (29:06.5),
Parker Mullins (29:25.2) and
Wyatt McCullough (31:51.5).
Franklin will be off for two weeks to prepare for the 2022 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championships, which are set for Oct. 29 in Bluffton, Ohio.
