The cross country campaign is just a couple of weeks old, but Franklin's William Hirsch is already in midseason form.

Hirsch, a junior from Evansville, Indiana, was named HCAC Runner of the Week in men's cross country after claiming the individual crown at the Hanover Invitational this past weekend. He ran the 6-kilometer course in 20:18.05 to finish more than 12 seconds ahead of the field.

The Grizzly men placed third as a team with 77 points at the meet, trailing only Thomas More (45) and the host Panthers (55).

Hirsch won HCAC weekly honors twice last fall on his way to an all-conference season.

Franklin is off the next two weekends before traveling to Louisville on Oct. 3.
