RECAP | Grizzlies Kick Off Seven-Game Home Slate with Double Digit Win Over Mount St. Joseph

Box Score

FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College baseball team opened an important seven-game homestand on Friday (Apr. 2) afternoon with a single game against the Mount St. Joseph Lions.

The Grizzlies (8-4) turned an early game pitcher's duel into a rout late in the game, plating eight runs over the final two innings to pick up their third win of the year over the Lions (6-9) with an 11-1 victory.

How it Happened
Logan Demkovich led off the second with a double and scored two batters later on Tysen Lipscomb's RBI ground out to open the scoring. Ryan Bixler added to the lead an inning later with an RBI single and after the Lions cut the lead in half in the fourth, the Grizzlies restored their two-run lead when a two-out MSJ error allowed Colby Reed to score and make it 3-1.

The Grizzlies put some more distance between the two sides with a three-run seventh and sealed the game with a five-run eighth inning.
