Baseball Team Defeats Anderson

FRANKLIN, Ind. (April 28, 2017) Behind a sterling pitching performance by Jordan Clark, the Franklin College baseball team defeated visiting Anderson 3-1 on Friday afternoon in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action.

Clark scattered six hits, struck out 11 and gave up no earned runs in picking up the complete-game victory. He is 6-0 on the season.

At the plate, the Grizzlies supported Clark with 11 hits. Left fielder Nick Wright led the way, going 3-for-4, including two doubles, with a run scored. Second baseman Brandt Pawley was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and outfielders Jarrod Smith and Ryan Erlandson had an RBI each.

The game was part of a doubleheader, but Game 2 was suspended by rain in the bottom of the second inning with Anderson leading 4-0. The game will resume at noon on Saturday, followed by the third and final game of the series.

Franklin is 20-14 overall and 12-9 in the HCAC. Anderson is 13-21 and 7-14.
