Baseball Team Splits Doubleheader

FRANKLIN, Ind. (March 18, 2017) – The Franklin College baseball team split a doubleheader Saturday afternoon against visiting Capital University.

Franklin won the first game, 10-3. Capital took the second, 10-6.

In the first game, the Grizzlies broke open what had been a close game with six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.

For the game, the Grizzlies combined for eight hits in support of winning pitcher Jordan Clark, who worked seven innings and improved to 2-0. Designated hitter Alex Mis was 2 of 4 at the plate, including a double, with an RBI and a run scored. Shortstop Sam Claycamp, left fielder Nick Wright and catcher Jackson Freed each had a double for Franklin.

In the second game, Capital rallied from a 4-1 deficit with a seven-run eighth inning to pick up the win.

Franklin (7-5) and Capital (9-4) complete their three-game series on Sunday. Game time is noon.
