Baseball Loses to Rose-Hulman

Franklin, Ind. - Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology scored four runs in the sixth inning to defeat the Franklin College baseball team 8-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) action on Tuesday from John P. McDowell Field.

The visiting Fightin' Engineers, who lead the HCAC by three games in the loss column, broke the scoreless game behind a two-run third inning. The team added one run in the fourth to hold a 3-0 advantage. Then, the four-run sixth inning sealed the victory.

Sophomore Frank Podkul (Schererville, Ind./Andrean) and senior Drew Kammerer (Fortville, Ind./Mt. Vernon) each recorded a hit for Franklin.

The Grizzlies return to action on Friday, April 22 at 4:13 p.m. when they open a three-game HCAC series at home against Bluffton University from John P. McDowell Field. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, April 23 at noon during the program's Senior Day.
