Even a few months removed from a banner junior season, the honors continue to roll in for Franklin star
Celeste Hollis.
The Granger, Indiana native earned second team Scholar All-America recognition from the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) on Thursday, capping a stellar year that saw Hollis qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships and narrowly miss out on All-America status in the 100-yard butterfly.
Hollis was named the HCAC's Athlete of the Year for women's swimming and diving after winning individual conference titles in the 100 and 200 fly while also swimming on four victorious relays. She set school records in both butterfly events as well as the 50 freestyle as a junior.
To qualify for the CSCAA Scholar All-America second team, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and met an NCAA "B" qualifying standard. An English major with minors in French and creative writing, Hollis carries a 3.79 grade-point average into her senior year.
