The standard of excellence set by Franklin women's swimming and diving continues to extend beyond the pool deck.
Juniors
Avery Tomlinson and
Celeste Hollis were both among those chosen to the CSC Academic All-District team on Tuesday, yet another accolade in a winter that has already been chock full of them.
Tomlinson, a native of Littleton, Colorado, boasts a 3.82 grade-point average as a psychology major. She had a perfect meet at the HCAC Championships, taking first place in all three of her individual events (100- and 200-yard breaststroke, 200 individual medley) and swimming on four victorious relays. She is also a starter on the Grizzlies' women's lacrosse team.
Hollis is an English major with a 3.77 GPA. In the pool, the Granger, Indiana product competed at the NCAA Division III Championships, placing 18th in the 100 butterfly and also competing in the 200 fly and the 50 freestyle. She was a conference champ in the 100 and 200 fly in addition to being part of four first-place Franklin relays.
Both swimmers were also named as finalists for the Academic All-America teams, which will be named on April 28.
