A landmark year for Franklin College's cross country and track and field teams extended into the classroom as well.
Four Griz athletes — senior
Wynn Wellington and sophomores
Garek Ellis,
Zachary Schroeder and
Brayden Wilkins — were among those selected the CSC Academic All-District teams for the 2025-26 school year.
To be eligible, athletes must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher and be ranked in the top 50 regionally in at least one event.
Wellington, who hails from Goshen, Indiana, recently graduated with a 3.75 GPA in political science. During the spring season, she also set an outdoor school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Also qualifying as a steeplechase runner on the men's side was Schroeder, a psychology major from Evansville, Indiana with a 3.85 GPA.
Wilkins, a finance major from New Palestine, Indiana, posted a 3.83 GPA while also setting outdoor school records in the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Ellis, a thrower from Frankton, Indiana, owns a 3.98 GPA in biology.
