Brayden Wilkins was the top sprinter in the HCAC during the conference outdoor season. Even with the league's championship meet in the rear-view mirror, the Franklin sophomore continues to set the pace.
Following a strong performance at Indiana State's Sycamore Open over the weekend, Wilkins was named the HCAC Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Week.
Wilkins an a new personal best of 10.61 seconds in the 100-meter dash preliminaries to break his own school record by two tenths of a second. His mark also places him fifth on the conference's all-time list. Wilkins returned for the 100 final, claiming fourth with a 10.72.
In the 200, Wilkins broke his own school record by one tenth of a second, going 21.41 to claim second.
The sophomore will venture to Illinois this week for the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier.
