Rylan Young's Franklin softball career has gotten off to a strong start. This past week was the high point to date.
The Hagerstown, Indiana native was named HCAC Pitcher of the Week after earning a pair of wins in the circle, including a shutout against a ranked opponent.
Young went the distance in a win over Kenyon, giving up three earned runs and walking nobody across seven innings.  She then scattered six hits and a walk while keeping No. 23 DePauw off the board in a 9-0 upset victory.
The freshman now owns a 4-0 record on the season.
Franklin is on the road in Tennessee this week, playing two games at Maryville on Tuesday and another pair at Sewanee on Thursday.
