TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Franklin men's indoor track and field rounded out the month of January at the Rose-Hulman Classic. The men put together a strong show all around to take sixth out of 10 teams with 25 points.

Sophomore Brayden Wilkins saw himself enter new territory this weekend in the 60-meter dash. Wilkins ran his preliminary heat in 7.06 seconds to earn a spot in the final, where he claimed fourth in a time of 6.99. That mark breaks his previous school record of 7.01 and makes him the first Grizzly to ever go under seven.

After the 60, Wilkins joined forces with junior Steven Scott and freshmen Myles Baker and Dyreese Elliott for the 4x200 relay. The quad ran to a second-place finish (1:33.55), putting them fourth in school history.

In the 5,000, senior Riley Devening got his season underway by snagging second place (16:21.19).

In the field, junior Caleb Pipes got the day started in the weight throw by tossing a new personal best of 13.63 meters (44-8.6), good for ninth in school history. Freshman Teagun Rominger also threw himself to a new PB with a hurl of 13.13 meters (43-1).

The Grizzlies travel to the Fall Creek Pavilion in Indianapolis this coming weekend (Feb. 6-7) for the Fairgrounds Invitational.
