TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Franklin men's track and field was back in action at the second installment of Rose-Hulman's Friday Night Spikes, scoring 53 points to take fourth out of seven teams.

On the track, freshman Joe Johnson got the meet started by qualifying for the 60-meter hurdle final (9.19 seconds). That time put him 10th all-time in school history. Johnson returned to take fifth place in the final, lowering his time to 9.15. In the 60-meter dash, the Grizzlies saw three athletes score in the finals; sophomore Brayden Wilkins claimed third (7.05), freshman Dyreese Elliott came in sixth (7.13, fourth in school history) and fellow frosh Myles Baker in seventh (7.15).

All three of those sprinters also scored in the 200: Wilkins (22.93), Baker (23.26, fifth all-time) and Elliott (24.05). Junior Russell Bilohlavek grabbed eighth (24.33), snagging himself a personal best.

In the 400 meters, junior Steven Scott led the way for the team, coming in at fourth (52.60). Freshman Khalid Amadou rounded out the squad in seventh place (53.23), a new personal best. Senior Jonah Decker was the lone scorer for the distance crew, taking sixth in the 3,000 meters (9:30.72). In the field, freshman Curtis Burke had himself a day in the shot put, taking seventh with a toss of 13.41 meters (44 feet). That toss has him sixth in school history. Fellow frosh Teagun Rominger threw himself into an eighth-place finish with a hurl of 12.94 meters (42-5.5).

Rounding out the evening, the men's 4x400 meter relay consisting of Scott, sophomore Austin Menefee, Bilohlavek and Johnson came together to secure sixth place (3:38.27).

The Grizzlies return to Terre Haute next Saturday (Jan. 31) for the Rose-Hulman Classic.
